Mastbos, Liesbos, Chaamse Bossen, Zeeland — many One Happy Hound group day trips cross the border. Discover which places we use and how to register interest.

Anyone who looks at our areas map sees it at once: next to dozens of places in Flanders there are also off-leash forests, beaches and dog zones in the Netherlands. That is no coincidence. On full day trips we look for variety — large forests, water, space — and just across the border sit some of the finest off-leash areas within driving distance of Antwerp.

Which places in the Netherlands do we use?

Our map counts dozens of locations in the Netherlands. A few regular favourites in practice:

  • Mastbos (Breda) — classic off-leash forest, popular for long walks.
  • Chaamse Bossen — large off-leash area southeast of Breda.
  • Liesbos (Etten-Leur) — western part off-leash year-round.
  • Galderse Meren & Asterdplas — water and forest around Breda.
  • Clingse bossen — towards Zeeland and West Brabant.
  • Beach and dunes (e.g. Zoutelande, Vrouwenpolder) — seasonal, always planned around the weather.

All addresses are on our Areas page — filter on the Netherlands and open straight in Google Maps.

Do you also pick up in the Netherlands?

Pickup today happens on existing routes in Antwerp, Kalmthout and Zandhoven; you can register for other cities. Dutch off-leash areas are destinations for our outings, not a fixed pickup round across the border. Does your dog live in the Belgian border region? Then outings to places like the Mastbos can fit the planning. Does your dog live in the Netherlands (Breda, Roosendaal, …)? Sign up via dog walking service Breda or choose your NL municipality in the contact form — that way we can gauge interest there.

Why this matters for owners on the Belgian side

You do not have to drive hours to Breda or Zeeland yourself: we arrange transport, group and route for a full day. More about price and how it works at the day trips.
